With time people started making dolls in Ixmucané's honor and they would tell her their woes, hoping she would solve them through the dolls. "This tradition is still alive," says Ana from the Lopez Garcia Family. "The idea is to have many worry dolls and trust each one with whatever troubles you. Once you've told them, you put them under your pillow. It is said that during the night, while we sleep, the dolls will whisper the solution to our troubles. For us, crafting the worry dolls - muñequitas quita penas - is our main source of income. It allows us to provide our children with an education as well as a job for all of us."

Adorable Worry Dolls

The "Joined in Love" worry dolls are colorful and well made. They are the best Worry Dolls I have ever seen. I like their larger size because you can actually see the faces. The Lopez Garcia Family has taken great care to make these. Even the back side of them is finished extremely well. I have already ordered the coin purse with a doll on it and will definitely be purchasing even more of their products.

A tradition that began with my Grandmother. Her church supported these missions, and she passed the significance of the "Worry Doll" message to me: Place a "Worry Doll under your pillow when you go to bed at night and give her your worries!".
