A girl kneels holding her cupped hands to her chest before performing the traditional Thai wai or greeting. The wai is a highly important reciprocal sign of courtesy. Hands are cupped together and the head is lowered while saying Sawasdee Khap, meaning "hello." "I have worked on small figurines to decorate the spirit house, which in Thailand is believed to house the guardian spirit of each home. I was wondering that if I could work on a figurine that is slightly bigger than the ones used for the spirit house, what position and expression should this figurine have?" recalls Duangkamol. "I remembered that our wai greeting has become recognized by people all around the world, and this is how I came to be inspired to create this little celadon girl wearing a Thai traditional costume."

Duangkamol designs a charming sculpture from Thailand. Crafted of ceramic, the sculpture depicts a young Thai girl, dressed in traditional clothes that make her look respectable. She wears a blue-green dress with a crackled celadon finish. Her hair is tied into a bun and a floral sculpture rests in her hands.

The celebrations held in honor of the Day of the Dead cannot be complete without this harmonious ensemble of female mariachis and their vibrant melodies. Directly from Mexico, Jorge Escamilla's set of six sculptures is the perfect addition to a traditional decor theme with a touch of feminine charm, as each piece—meticulously painted by hand—displays a sublime dress and little musical instruments boasting classic details.

Crafted and painted by hand, two diminutive cooking pots become ornaments. Eleazar Leal decorates them with images of Mexico, depicting small adobe homes on one and a girl with cactus on the other. The artisan works in ceramic and displays the pair on golden cords.

Ceramic disks depict vignettes from everyday life in Mexico. Crafted and painted by hand, these ornaments convey a nostalgia for neighborhoods and small town life. Eleazar Leal depicts a girl selling clay jars in an open-air market and a cobblestone street where a small mom-and-pop store sells abarrotes — groceries of all kinds. The church on the plaza can be seen in the background.
