Crafted of hakoba lace, a pair of cushion covers is dazzling. Seema adds bold flowers with appliqué and trims them with machine embroidery. A kind of eyelet embroidery, hakoba was used by nawabs (nobility) for cool summer clothing.

With a hand-painted tropical scene on the front, reminiscent of the stunning regional jungles, the artisan also equips this polyester accessory with an opening at the back and black piping.

Seema creates two beautiful cushion covers with modern motifs in aqua and ivory. On one, applique forms diagonal stripes that alternate with golden zari embroidery. On the other, lavish machine embroidery emulates India's traditional aari chainstitch to create flowers and foliage. Both cushion covers feature solid turquoise on the reverse side.

“My designs come in striking colors that represent Costa Rica, with the idea of capturing some of the richness of these colors and our beautiful native animals to make you fall in love with them,” says Costa Rican artisan Ferlander Arguedas. To create this colorful cushion cover, he uses different painting techniques and sublimation for printing. The cushion cover features Costa Rican native flora and fauna, such as parrots, toucans and frogs, in vibrant colors. The back is plain, with a zipper closure to fit the cushion.
