Teodolinda Seguil loves nature and its fascinating fauna, finding inspiration in each little detail present in the wild. Putting her expertise into practice, she hand-carves a birdhouse from a dried gourd, adding traditional Andean and bird motifs to the surface. Then, the artisan paints the item by hand and finishes her work with an acrylic cord for hanging it anywhere.

Butterflies are often present in many books as symbols of transformation, magic and hope. Their colorful appearance is also typical of traditional Andean artworks, like Teodolinda Seguil's latest creation. Working with dried gourds, she hand-carves intricated designs on each of these ornaments, later painted by hand in a palette of intense tones.

This set of three decorative items comes with acrylic strings for hanging them anywhere.

Ayacucho's nights are full of natural beauty and color in Zosimo Laura's depiction of the region's stunning views. The Peruvian artisan uses traditional handloom techniques to create this wool and cotton tapestry in an elegant black base hue, which enhances the vibrant owls arranged around the design, creating a mystic ambiance with their wise aura.

The artwork is titled Noche de Buhos in Spanish.

A multicolor palette of vibrant tones embellishes Peruvian master artist Teofilo Choquecahua's newest tapestry, created for the World Peace Project.

"This tapestry is a message of world peace from my Andean worldview," explains the artisan. "On a daily basis, man has experiences without empathy with his neighbor, because of the lack of honesty between each one of the individuals. It is for this reason that my tapestry is designed to reflect that if we cultivate honesty, we will all be loyal and without any violence. Like the doves that travel the face of the earth in peace, where there is understanding and trust in each other, there is no indifference or guilt for not being fair."

This handloomed tapestry is crafted with an alpaca, cotton, wool and polyester blend. Drawing inspiration from doves, and determined to spread a message of peace and honesty, Teofilo designed an intricate pattern of traditional regional motifs.
