NOVICA's Wood Sculpture Collection. The oldest known wood sculpture dates to about 12,000 years ago. Even before that time, humans carved wood to create utensils and objects of worship. Today, global artisans preserve ancient woodworking traditions and techniques as they create unique handcrafted traditional and contemporary wood sculptures.
Mr. Barrow is not only a visionary artist, but his attention to detail and eye for perfection is impeckable. This is my fourth sculpture from him, and I am always pleasantly surprised and viscerally excited with each new offering.
I have several of John Barrow's sculptures and love them all; I admire the skill that goes into them. This owl conveys a sense of quiet wisdom and deep thinking.

A master artisan whose work has garnered worldwide acclaim, he works in a traditional Ashanti style unique to his native land.
After studying with his father he furthered his art under the guidance of Professor Ablade Glover. He has used his art to realize his dream of educating his children, and spread his message of peace through his intricate wood sculptures distributed around the world by NOVICA.
