Working hard to support her family, an African woman stands with her child slung over her back. Ghanaian artisan George Obeng designs this charming sculpture, hand-carving it of teak wood. He names the sculpture Kaya Yee, a Ga phrase referring to a woman who carries loads for people.

I love these antelope wooden sculptures. Very beautiful and well done. Unfortunately the gift recipients were not as enthused. It may have been a bit exotic for them though I loved them and thought they were a good statement for celebrating a wedding anniversary.
