Artisans Aida and Cristino Lavariega of Oaxaca's capital city, Oaxaca de Juarez, present an enchanting set of six star ornaments handcrafted from tinplate. This type of metalwork used to be seen only in churches in Oaxaca de Juarez, principally in the form of images of saints or of the Virgin Mary. Only in more recent decades did artisans expand into other areas such as decorative pieces. The eight-pointed stars are hand painted in red, yellow, blue, pink, and green hues; each has a hook at the top, making it easy to infuse a space with holiday spirit by hanging the set on a wall, mantelpiece or tree.
You can find our tin ornaments 'Guiding Stars' (set of 6) by Aida and Cristino Lavariega in holiday decor & ornaments categories such as Star Ornaments and Tin Ornaments. Enjoy exploring these sections for other Novica treasures.
