Drawing inspiration from various West African tribes, artisan Ralph Ashong presents this attractive pendant necklace that is ideal for a casual look. Crafted by hand from local sese wood, the trapezoid-shaped pendant is engraved with an adinkra symbol called nkyinkyim, which is an Akan word representing "toughness" and "adaptability". Adinkra symbols are believed to have their origin an ancient kingdom that once stood where Ivory Coast is today in West Africa. The sleek pendant hangs from an adjustable nylon cord, making it a versatile accessory for men and women.

The mirror is far more beautiful than the images. The leaves are laid over the underlying frame and caste a small relief. The green is a hue and has a depth of color. It is very professionally finished and perfect in every way. Packed beautifully and arrived in perfect condition. Thank you Ralph and Novica, I could not have asked for better.
