This enchanting small kadam wood sculpture is the work of Ashish Mehta in India. In traditional jali style (where an item is ornamented with perforations or lattice work), the artisan carves an elephant with his trunk raised. In a remarkable feat of expert carving, a second tiny elephant can be seen within the sculpture's belly. White plastic is used for the elephant's tusks and toenails.
