Handwoven Alpaca Tapestry of Peru's Nazca Hummingbird, "Nazca Hummingbird"

With wings extended, the Nazca hummingbird hovers on a field of brown, seemingly illuminated by tenuous light. Teofilo Choquecahua weaves a dramatic tapestry that faithfully recreates the famous geoglyph. The mysterious figures of the Nazca Plain, located about 200 miles south of Lima, can be seen in their entirety only from the air. Choquecahua's rendition uses luxurious alpaca wool on cotton.
