Two figures work together to hold up your books in this delightful pair of bookends. A perfect decorative accessory for a book lover, the bookends are handcrafted from pinewood and upcycled iron rebar and railroad spikes by Mexican artisan Carlos Torres.
Because the artisan recycles materials such as nails, bars and other metals, the colors and dimensions can vary depending on what's available. Each sculpture is a unique piece or art. The artisan does not give his sculptures a fine polished finish, therefore smudges and scratches may be present.

My great grandparents immigrated from Ireland to America because of the potato famine in the mid-nineteenth century. My father worked as a railroad engineer early in his career. He would have liked these iron bookends upcycled from railroad spikes. Bravo!

I love this mug so much, I ordered three more! The metal inside keeps my drinks cold for quite a while after any ice has melted. Although I prefer this design shape to the other one available, I would venture that the other one also has the same properties because its made of the same materials. Im hoping that the artisan might make more of this shape because Id like to eventually have a larger set, but for now I will enjoy the ones I have.
