Zandra Lorena Sajbin evokes Maya glory with the exquisite design of this necklace. Working with sterling silver, she crafts seven light green jade pendants. Ya'ax Chich in Maya, jade was regarded as a sacred symbol of life, fertility and power. Each gem on this necklace sits on delicately detailed settings featuring the quetzal bird, national emblem of Guatemala, and Maya characters holding a corn cob, regarded as sacred. The quality and speckled color are beautiful and the detailed sterling designs on the back are both artfully done and unique. The maíz shapes of each stone are very rich and indigenous in a way that just makes me smile and appreciate my culture. I am sad to have to return because I just could not get it to sit right on my little neck. An average neck would not have this problem so I still give it five stars.

These earrings arrived yesterday and they are beautiful! I immediately put them on. With the hook closure on the back, they were difficult to unhook. And I had to bend the metal to open it up wider to be able to insert in my ear. Then I had trouble closing the clasp and then opening it again to take off. Im worried that bending the earring every time I wear them will weaken the integrity of the metal and they may break. The metal is very soft and pliable.
