The Balinese artisan hand carves the bird and flower from jempinis wood, using a benalu wood base with a naturally flat bottom to support the carving. Nearby, a handblown glass vase completes the sculpture with a glossy blue finish.

“Incredibly Lifelike”

The piece is very beautiful. You can almost see the wings flutter as the hummingbirds feed. It was surprising to me how light-weight it is. And its amazing that it was created from what was basically trash wood.
