Robert Nortey creates the original design of the "Ahoufe" to personify his idea of "Beauty," as it is said in the Twi dialect of the Akan people. Nortey carves the sese wood mask by hand featuring half-open eyes with eyelashes. She wears a tall and ornate headdress detailed in aluminum and brass, as well as on her cheeks. Painted green, her pouting lips are detailed in fiery red.

I have many beautiful masks that I have ordered through Novica and love them, and this mask, ?To Foresee? is no exception! While it it one of my less embellished and detailed masks, it still makes a big impression. Heavy, substantial, and the beautiful reddish color really makes an impact! So happy to have it as part of my collection!
