Guatemalan artisan Iliana Hernandez, inspired by the traditional Coban huipil (a woman's garment), crafts this gorgeous creation made from pine wood, with cotton attire and embellished with floral motifs. "I am in love with the culture of my region. With each brushstroke, we try to reflect the identity of each Guatemalan community, treasuring and delicately reproducing every detail of the original design."

I purchased two of these necklaces, and sent one off to a friend for her birthday. She was very pleased with the floral medallion -- she said that it went with so many of her tops! She loved the bright, skillfully painted flower, and thought that its shades of purple, blue, white, and touches of turquoise really popped against the black background.
