Known in Guatemala as the chompipe, the wild turkey is a beautiful bird. Natives of North America, they prefer life in the forest but can also thrive in places with dense vegetation, as they build their nests on the ground. Mauricio Morales depicts the colorful bird in a ceramic sculpture and carefully paints it by hand before protecting the colors with a coat of wax. The realistic figurine stands on wire legs and the feet can be wrapped around a perch or branch. It is signed and identified by the artist.

I got both the Toco Toucan and Keel-Billed Toucan. They are wonderful and fit perfectly in my sunroom.
