The ruddy duck is native to the Americas and nests in lakeshores, marshes and shallow ponds. Their legs are positioned to the rear of their bodies. This makes them clumsy at walking but extremely adept at swimming. During the winter, the male's bill turns blue. Mauricio Morales depicts the bird in a ceramic sculpture and carefully paints it by hand before protecting the colors with a coat of wax. The realistic figurine is signed and identified by the artist.

I got both the Toco Toucan and Keel-Billed Toucan. They are wonderful and fit perfectly in my sunroom.
