Forming a circle, four quarter-round boxes display the ancient technique of lacquerware. Though the art form originated in China, the technique spread to northern Thailand centuries ago and firmly took hold there. Artisan Nantana Sompamitre crafts this set of four small boxes from mango wood and paints them carefully with floral motifs in tones of yellow and red.

The bpx is well made and a nice addition to my collection. Only wish the green wasmore prominent like the photo shows. The green is a bit subdued.

These three lacquered wood fish boxes are very small so may not be practical for many though if someone loves fish they can be a great symbol. The boxes open for storage of very small items.
