Working to clean up oceans and waterways, recycle, and employ the local community, Ocean Sole of Kenya creates amazing, colorful sculptures from recycled flip-flops. This sweet sitting dog sculpture is formed and hand-carved from approximately 8 flip-flops, and can take as much as 7 hours to create. Each dog is unique with variations in color, pattern and placement as seen in the example photo.

This was a holiday gift purchased for our son and his girlfriend. We try to find ways to give gifts that help the artists as well as please the one receiving the gift. Novica is one of my favorite places to shop because I like to think that the act of giving should be done thoughtfully. This dog made from recycled flip flops was a delightful and fun gift for someone who loves animals or someone who loves quirky colorful art!

This item is poorly made and after failing to check the size listed I was disappointed. I have 4 other eco animals purchased several years ago from the Smithsonian gift shop. They are smoother and better made. This article, while cute, is overpriced

This was purchased for our son and his girlfriend who is a veterinarian. It made ,along with the dog a charmingly colorful gift. They both loved their gifts and also appreciated that it is a gift that helps support artists and their craft. The fact that they are using recycled flip flop materials makes it also good for the environment. Love Novica for gift giving!! These animals are very charming.

I have travel to East Africa many times and have purchased flip flop animal sculptures for family and friends but never for myself. When I saw the giraffe, I had to have him. I love supporting such a great project to recycle flip flops into awesome works of art. Lots of time and love go into making these forever creations. Colors are vibrant and high quality craftsmanship.
