Flowers accessorize Catrina's turquoise dress as she personifies death with grace and humor. As always, she wears a wide-brimmed hat. Artisans from the Angel Cerón Artisan Association are inspired by the celebrated cartoon developed by José Guadalupe Posadas to poke fun at Mexico's high society during the early 1900's. Revealing Catrina's skeletal figure, the Oaxacan clay sculpture is painted by hand.

Catrina's head can be removed.

“Catrina the Beautiful IS beautiful”

This quirky and colourful sculpture is a real treasure. I love that she represents a dig at the hoi pilloi. She is well crafted and robust, making the journey to Australia without mishap. The removable head is a good feature. I bought her as a gift for my daughter but loved her so much that I have ordered another to keep. Thanks Angel.

“Excellent Olmec Wrestler”

Highly skilled interpretation of Olmec Wrestler. Love it. Angel Ceron Artisan Association has some marvelous pieces. My son gave me another sculpture that I cherish as well. Buy with confidence. The packing job was extraordinary! Ive never seen anything like it! If youre worried about fragile ceramic pieces, dont be. Ive never seen such a professional packing job.
