Costa Rican Traditional Wood Devil Mask with Tusks, "Boruca Tusks"

Traditional Costa Rican devil masks pay homage to the ones worn by the Boruca people during the Dance of the Devils, annual celebrations that mark their battles against the Spanish conquerors. This wall decorative accent crafted by the artisans of Costa Rica's Association of So Cagru Indigenous Women is carved by hand from balsa wood and painted by hand with acrylic paints.
