Brazilian Favela Acrylic on Canvas Abstract Painting, "Black and White Favela I"

This abstract painting featuring a primary palette of white, black and grey as well as subtle touches of bright colors depicts a typical favela of Rio de Janeiro and its sea of grouped houses occupy the entire length of the canvas. Using acrylic paints, Brazilian artist Arnaldo de Moraes works the canvas with vigorous strokes that make the scene come alive.
