Terraces curve up the mountainsides, far as the eye can see. Amid the lush panorama, people bend to the tasks of the rice harvest. It is Bali's fertile fields and plentiful water that allow the so-called Island of the Gods the leisure time to develop and maintain its highly creative spiritual culture. Thus, to the Balinese, rice is not merely food, but the sustenance of their sophisticated society. Gusti Made Sujana creates this idyllic scene in glowing batik, masterfully manipulating wax and dyes. The result is an incredibly detailed portrait of the island.

Just another great addition to my Indo collection. I really like this artist. Please keep in mind that his artwork comes as a rolled canvas that you will have to have stretched over a frame (if you want it framed) and this will add cost to the piece. ($75 - $ 100)
