Barro Negro Skull Planter, "Black Butterfly"

Crowned with flowers and butterflies, a beautiful skull is ready to serve as a unique planter. Fernando and Magali Pedro in Mexico craft the pot from barro negro or "black clay", using methods handed down over centuries. The dark color and slightly metallic sheen are achieved by polishing the clay's surface with a quartz or obsidian stone before the pot is fired in the kiln.
