Myriad lanterns celebrate Buddha's birthday in South Korea. The actual date changes according to the lunar calendar, but the Lotus Lantern Festival is always celebrated on the last evening of the festivities. The parade includes over 100,000 lotus lanterns featuring prayers. Captivated, Ryan Chappell took this photograph on Seoul's Jongno Street and printed it on Fujicolor crystal archive paper, presenting the signed photograph on a mat board.
