A scene of destruction where a child, a woman and a little dog mourn at a tomb with burning houses all around them is somewat softened by Telma Morais' classic naif style. "I painted this scene influenced by the chaos and commotion I saw on television after the bombings in Ukraine. It is an outburst, a protest against the inhumane reality that there is still war in the world," says the artist.

Its gorgeous colors and evening sky invite the viewer into a childs dream. I love it and will hang it in my the room where my grandchildren sleep when they visit us. And, Yes, I do believe in angels!
