2.5 Inch Pink Ceramic Mini Bus Figurine from Guatemala, "Pink Old Time Bus"

A small school bus in flamingo pink clatters down the roads of rural Guatemala. Usually crowded, it carries people and products going to market. Sometimes known as chicken buses, these old fashioned vehicles inspire Guatemalan ceramicist Vitelio Orozco's diminutive 2.5 inch bus in ceramic, hand-painted in bright colors. A bright palm leaf basket on the roof is filled with a variety of ceramic and pinewood fruits and vegetables.
