Quitapenas means "to remove worries" in Spanish; artisan Aura Lopez explains the Mayan worry doll tradition. "My grandparents said that the way to use them was to take the doll out of the bag or wooden box and tell it your problems and fears," she states. "Then, you place the doll under your pillow and, the next day, your problem becomes smaller or can be resolved." The set consists of two pairs of male and female worry dolls joined together by a red heart. Handmade, the dolls are dressed in vividly-colored traditional Guatemalan attire and arrive in a pouch of handwoven cotton fabric.

Lovely Journal

This is a lovely journal with very high quality construction. The pattern is simple, yet elegant. It's too big for most purses, but it's perfect for around the house and for writing longer things. Essentially, it is both highly functional and beautiful in a somewhat underrated way. I really love it.

Beautiful table linens and more.

This set of placemats and napkins is beautiful and exactly what I needed for my new kitchen table. The package came gift-wrapped with a geometric design printed onto recycled paper. A worry doll was attached to the ribbon along with an explanation of the doll's use and history in Mayan culture. The napkins are on the small side but perfectly matched with the placemats. If needed, it would be easy to find additional napkins that coordinate well. I am very happy with this purchase, the wrapping paper and worry doll enhanced my pleasure. It felt like I had bought myself a present and somebody gave me an additional gift. Thank you Senor Eladio Chiroy!
