The Balinese artisan hand carves the sunflower-shaped box from suar wood, embellishing the lid with butterfly and ladybug carvings, then painting the surface in bright colors. “My designs come in striking colours that represent Costa Rica, with the idea of capturing some of the richness of these colours and our beautiful native animals to make you fall in love with them,” says Costa Rican artisan Ferlander Arguedas. To create this colourful cushion cover, he uses different painting techniques and sublimation for printing. The cushion cover features Costa Rican native flora and fauna, such as parrots, toucans and frogs, in vibrant colours. The back is plain, with a zipper closure to fit the cushion.

This two-tone cushion cover is the kind of decorative accent that can change completely how a space looks and feels. Designed by Peruvian artisan Antonio Vasquez, the motifs pay homage to the iconography and cave paintings traditional of the region of Cajamarca. The back, made from a plain polycotton drill fabric, features a hidden zipper that allows for the insertion of a cushion (not included) while the front is exquisitely woven by hand from cotton.
