Blooming on an expanse of sheer white silk chiffon, lavender orchids whisper of Bali. Designed by Dewa De Wardana, this exquisite lightweight shawl is painted by hand and signed. Slight variations are to be expected, as each one is individually handcrafted and therefore unique.

A luscious lavender hue defines this beautiful all-wool shawl from Indian artisan Sajad. The shawl is woven on a traditional hand loom in the classic chasm-e bulbul diamond pattern. The ends of the shawl culminate in a short fringe.

Each taught by her respective mother, Rajnandinee and Srabonti combine their talents and skills in the stunning design of this tussar silk shawl. Resembling beehives, the imagery is masterfully block printed on the shawl in a bold palette of colors that includes deep lavender and ginger over alabaster.

Hand block printing is a millenary art form believed to have spread throughout Asia during the 4th century AD. The desired composition is carved on wooden block with a chisel, hammer, file, nails etc. Printing involves laying out the fabric on flat tables and making the impressions with the previously carved blocks dipped in the desired dyes.

Woven by hand on a traditional loom, this beautiful shawl takes its inspiration from the flowers of Guatemala. Artisans from the Creative Artisan Women's Group work in cool cotton shades like lilac, turquoise, green and yellow to create rich textures. Hand-knotted fringe adorns each end.

This breathtaking silk batik shawl is from Melati's Collection in Bali. The white silk is printed with an all-over floral motif in iris, orchid and black. Long lavender and black fringe completes the design, which is named Teratai, an Indonesian word for "lotus flower". The shawl arrives in an elegant gift box crafted of linen-covered wood with a suede accent and a silk lining.
