Mary and the disciples grieve his death by candlelight. Yet he rises again and ascends into heaven. Known as a retablo, this traditional diorama is housed in a colorful chest crafted of wood and painted. Chávez carefully models each figure from ceramic plaster and paints them all by hand.

This Is a Gift

I haven't taken it all out the box, I don't want any parts to go missing. But from what I did see it is so beautiful. I can't hardly wait for his B-day to give it to my Husband. He will be retiring soon (I hope) he has been talking about building a miniature suburb/town, he has a train set he has had since he was a kid. He has been collecting miniature homes and people. I thought this would be a great addition for his project. I've also bought him a fairy house (made from a Gourd) so I thought this would also look great. I think I got a great deal. The craftsmanship is so right on! Thanks!
