If you hold the Christmas holidays close to your heart, then this set of six heart-shaped ornaments crafted and painted by hand will be the perfect decoration for your tree. Guatemalan artisan Jose Arriola designs the ornaments from ceramic in red, yellow, blue, light blue, purple and green with lovely floral, leaf, animal and sun motifs. Each one comes with stainless steel hooks and waxed polyester cords to hang from the tree and can be safely stored in the accompanying striped bag made from 100% cotton.

Received my Hearts of nature today and they are so cute! They are going to be Christmas gifts and I cant wait to gift them. I may have to keep one for myself. lol They look just like the pictures and shipping was fast. I love your work Jose... just beautiful.

“Marvelous!”

What a great idea to create these tiny animals molded and painted with such patience and creativity. I am an all animals lover. My next small Christmas tree will be a Noahs Ark Friends one. It will be admired and loved for sure and I hope it will inspire friends and family to purchase these tiny marvels from the very talented Jose Arriola. Congratulations for these wonderful creations!

Jose creates the most beautiful ceramic ornaments and figurines. His family has lived in Antigua for more than 100 years and he takes great pride in practicing the same ceramic techniques his ancestors used. He wishes to help this tradition continue and he teaches anyone in his community who has an interest in learning.

Microcredit Financing

Jose Arriola has received 7 microcredit loans with 0% interest from Kiva and Novica, the first for $450 and the most recent for $2550. Proceeds were used to purchase paints and materials for his ceramics to continue production.

Enabling Education

Jose's children are all grown but but he does provide financial support for the education of one person outside of his family and he occasionally supports other children's school expenses.

Confronting Adversity

Jose has been dealing with diabetes for over 17 years. His condition has caused many problems for him, but currently he is able to control it and enjoy his life.
