Working with local artisans in Ghana, Victoria Agyepomaa designs this colorfully assertive mask that is hand carved from sese-dua wood. The cheeks and forehead of the mask are adorned with stunningly textured aluminum repoussé metalwork, which creates a brilliant contrast against the painted wood. The artisan uses brass plate for the eyelids, which sit above hollowed eyes. Victoria names her design msizi which is a Zulu word meaning "helper".
