Seated quietly, monks contemplate images of Buddha as they celebrate the Master's birthday with prayer and worship. Ryan Chappell captures a scene from Bongeunsa temple in Seoul, South Korea. At sunset, thousands of lanterns are lighted, and bells – some hundreds of years old – ring while incense burns. The temple's peace contrasts starkly with the busy city that surrounds it.
Chappell prints the color photograph on Fujicolor crystal archive paper and mounts it with a mat board passe-partout.

I have these as a gift to a work colleague. They were beautifully framed and boxed and made a lovely gift "presentation." My work colleague has told me several times how much she enjoys the framed artwork!
You can find our 'praying Monks' by Ryan Chappell in wall decor categories such as East meets West Photography Prints, Religious Photography Prints, Prayer Photography Prints and Paper Photography Prints. Enjoy exploring these sections for other Novica treasures.
"Through photography, I share the world around me and I strive to create photos that show the similarities in people's experience of life, rather than the differences between cultures."
