This charming little sculpture of a man is crafted of ceramic, featuring hand-painted floral motifs against a green body, with a multicolored wool chullo cap reading "Peru" atop his head. Presented by Maribel Posso Olivares, the figurine depicts Ekeko, the Tiwanakan god of abundance, shown here with a variety of luxurious items, such as an airplane, a sack of money, and a boat strung around his neck. This sculpture brings a touch of Latin good fortune to any home.

I loved reading about the Ekeko fable, and this figurine is the perfect Ekeko. He is colorful, has a woven hat and lots and lots of presents. Most enjoyable and fun to look at. And, he indeed looks very jolly and makes me smile!
