Designed by Buana, this Balinese necklace is centered by a face-shaped pendant that is carved of bone. Atop the face is a handcrafted sterling silver crown, detailed with intricate spiral patterns. Over one carat of amethyst, peridot, and blue topaz stones decorate the pendant for a glittering accessory. Buana names the accessory "Wayan," a Balinese name given to a first son or daughter.

I was immediately drawn to the design of this beautiful pendant, and was delighted when I opened the box. It is feminine and a size that can be worn everyday. Style and good taste are evident in this lovely piece, attention to detail. Love it! Enjoy!!!

Buana is a master silversmith. He designs and crafts his jewelry collection using a combination of traditional and modern jewelry making techniques. Buana and his silversmiths share their knowledge and train younger artisans that join the workshop.

Microcredit Financing

Buana has received 14 microcredit loans with 0% interest from Kiva and Novica, the first for $2400 and the most recent for $7000. Proceeds were used to invest in a purchase of natural gemstones and silver for his jewelry.

Caring for Children

When Buana first began to work, he was fearful that he would be unable to care for his first child. Now he proudly cares for two.

Buana provides for the education of his two children.
