Always elegant, La Catrina flirts with a wink and a toothy grin. The word catrina is widely used in Mexico to mean "elegant and polished." Lithographer Jose Guadalupe Posadas created the skeletal Catrina, who was later immortalized in the murals of Diego Rivera. She wears the large feathered headdress known as a penacho, a symbol of noble birth, power, military might by the Aztecs. Rosa Padilla etches the image by hand on a rectangle of sterling silver to center a macramé bracelet of blue and aqua cords.

This ring is adjustable so you can wear it on any finger. I am a breeder of live axolotls so wearing this ring while vending at reptile expos looks great. I get compliments and they ask where they can get one and I have referred them back here.

I am very disappointed. The etching is so light that it is impossible to figure out what the design is. I will not wear it.
