The Peruvian town of Jauja briefly flourished as the capital of Spanish Peru. The Inca riches that Pizarro and his men found there even led to the legend that Jauja was a land of luxury. "Pais de Jauja" has become a Spanish expression for a mythical land of leisure and excess, but today the real Jauja is a quiet colonial town with fewer than 20,000 residents. The lacy patterns on our alpaca-blend cardigan are inspired by the Baroque and Rococo architecture of the 1564 Jauja Cathedral. The tan and ivory sweater features a hidden front zipper.

smooth and small weave. Flattering and more modern close fitting but still enough room under for a long sleeve T-shirt.

This sweater is beautiful and soft. However, the zipper is defective and difficult to get it to work. Clearly it will fail in the near future. Perhaps, I received a defective one and not all are like this but ask when you order. The sweater itself is of good quality. Also the fit is rather loose, not tailored, which may appeal to some but not for a thin person. The arm length is perfect for long arms. Wish it would have worked better, in general.

I wear this for casual and business events, the reversible feature makes it adaptable to my wardrobe. It keeps me war, but never too hot. It is the right length, weight, and outstanding quality. It is a blend, and washes well (I handwash, set it down flat, roll it in a towel to soak up excess water, then let it dry flat). Best purchase ever.
