Guatemala's Lopez Garcia Family creates this sweet coin purse that is sure to be a conversation starter. The ivory cotton bag is embellished with a quitapena, or Guatemalan "worry doll". According to legend, the princess Ixmucané was granted the ability to solve people's problems by the Sun God. Over time, people began to make tiny dolls in remembrance of Ixmucané. They would tell the dolls their problems in the hopes that Ixmucané would solve them. The custom became very popular, and continues to this day. The coin purse is lined in cotton and features a zipper closure and a hand woven cotton tab.

“A wonderfully made fantastic piece!”

I absolutely adore this and the price seems incredibly low considering how beautifully high quality it is! This amazingly lovely little purse lives in my bag daily and the gift wrapping included a fabulous extra worry doll which I also utilize. “This coin purse is so cute and colorful!”

Once again the Lopez Garcia Family has made the cutest thing. It has a worry doll on the front and a little matching tab. Just adorable! They even made it with a snap on the worry doll so you can snap it off if you are worried, as I was, that it will get torn if you use the coin purse. A very talented family.

“Colorful and cute little coin purse”

This little coin purse is such a clever small gift. It is very well made. I love the Worry Doll on it and the woven cloth shaped like a flower behind her. The doll is the largest and best looking worry doll I have ever seen.

“Make 100 people happy with these precious handmade worry dolls”

I love giving gifts. Mostly to children I cross paths with in my travels. Like the child who is fussy or crying or having a tantrum in the airport, on a plane, in a supermarket. I always keep mini pullback cars or mini bubbles in my purse and coat pockets so they re easily accessible for me to grab on the spot. When I came across these worry dolls, 100 of them, I felt like I hit the jackpot. I have a few in every pocket and purse and everyone I give one to is instantly happy!!! I m talking children AND adults!! It puts a smile on even the crankiest child s (or adult s for that matter!) face. These are unique and special and beautifully and lovingly made. What a cool way to turn frowns upside down! Adults in particular love the folklore of telling the sweet little doll your worries and then putting her under your pillow and when you wake up the next morning you just may have answers. For me, that is a big bonus, because just that little doll, all by herself, is full of joy and love.
