Gusti Ngurah Semarajaya is a hardworking artisan from Indonesia, seamlessly combining wood carvings with painting. He designs this jewelry box, which is hand-carved from local jempinis wood. He paints the striking image of Bhoma on its surface, a fierce-looking god that is known as lord of the forest and protector of small villages. The box opens to reveal four small compartments that surround one large compartment, all lined with polyester velvet for storing pieces of jewelry. A convenient mirror is on the inside of the lid.

This was a gift for my son-in-law for Christmas. We were both very happy with the craftsmanship and beauty of the box. My SIL received a great gift and I got the satisfaction of giving a great gift.

I bought this for myself more for the artistry than to house much jewelry, but I have purchased a few pieces of jewelry from Novica recently and this is the perfect place to hold them when not being worn. It is a beautiful piece and the drawing on the lid is perfection! Highly recommend!
