For the indigenous people in pre-Hispanic times, jade, known as ya'ax chich, represented life, fertility, and power. Guatemalan artisan Zandra Lorena Sajbin works with this ancestral stone, which showcases natural green tonalities. She hand-carves a pendant to feature a ring with faceted edges and sets it on an adjustable length of black cotton cord.

I have an Indonesian Irian Jaya blue tongue skink, so when I saw a necklace with a lizard on it, I knew I had to have it. It is of a good weight and the carving of the lizard on the necklace matches a leather strap bracelet that I also purchased from Novica.
