This trendy pair of earrings comes from the creative mind of designer Ali Mohammed. Hand carved from ebony wood, each earring features an Adinkra symbol called fofoo, which is an Akan word for a yellow-flowered plant. Adinkra symbols are believed to have their origin in an ancient kingdom that once stood where Ivory Coast is today in West Africa. The unique floral symbols hang from brass hooks.

Lightweight and simple modern design -- these earrings remind me of asterisks. I received compliments on them from a complete stranger the first time I wore them.
