Nonyem Abena Ibeneme transforms dried calabash shells into earrings of organic beauty. "It's a fun and tropical design," says the Nigerian-born designer. The earrings are crafted with hand-carved calabash rounds, recycled from those not used by calabash sculptors. They are dark orange on the front, and light on the back. The earrings hang from brass hooks.

“Not practical”

These look really cool but they are hard to wear as they do not hang properly. I think this light weight material is not a good choice for long hair. But they are cute.

“Love These Simple Earrings!”

I love that these have a little weight to them, so they do not swing too much, but also arent too heavy. The matte finish of the glass beads makes them subtle. A favorite of mine!
