Ghanaian artisan Abdul Aziz Mohamadu creates an elegant addition to your home decor. Hand-carved of sese wood, this African mask features the simple image of a face, painted in a dark green hue. The forehead is detailed with dotted motifs that depict a lizard. Abdul names the mask Nomsa, meaning "a marvelous and hallowed person" in Zulu.

The mask lacks vibrance. The colors are dull. Very Primitive in nature. The red doesnt appear as vivid as the photo. The size is nice. I recognize that one cant duplicate a mask over and over exactly due to it being handmade.

Caring for Children
Abdul has four children of his own and and cares for an additional four. All eight children live with him and he treats them all as his own.
Job Creator
Abdul has a dream of establishing an art academy for carving and sharing the African culture that is so closely tied to wood carving. So far, he has trained over 30 people but hopes that number can grow to be in the hundreds with an academy.
Moving On Up
Since he started working with NOVICA, he has been able to grow his business. Through NOVICA and his determination, every day he gets a little closer to his goal of empowering and training others in carving.
