Balinese artisan Buana designs these dangle earrings, which display oval gemstones of faceted citrine. This accessory is named Sukawati, after a district in the Gianyar regency of Bali.

“A New Look in an Amethyst Ring”

The wider than usual width of this ring is a refreshing change, but Buanas craftmanship and attention to detail makes it a winner for me. The amethysts are deep-toned and perfectly matches in color. The addition of the detailed sterling silver design adds flair to this ring.

“Pink Pearl and Frangipani Beauty”

Buana is a master silversmith. He designs and crafts his jewelry collection using a combination of traditional and modern jewelry making techniques. Buana and his silversmiths share their knowledge and train younger artisans that join the workshop.

Microcredit Financing

Buana has received 14 microcredit loans with 0% interest from Kiva and Novica, the first for $2400 and the most recent for $7000. Proceeds were used to invest in a purchase of natural gemstones and silver for his jewelry.

Caring for Children

When Buana first began to work, he was fearful that he would be unable to care for his first child. Now he proudly cares for two.

Buana provides for the education of his two children.
