An emblem of good luck according to the Buddhist faith, this fearsome dragon is destined to guard personal treasures. M. Ayub carves the dragon in detailed high relief work to adorn this versatile jewelry box. Featuring two internal compartments lined in velvet, the walnut wood box opens by pressing and pushing on the lower panel of the box.
You can find our wood Jewellery box 'Dragon Fortunes' by M. Ayub in jewellery boxes categories such as Animal Themed Boxes and Wood Boxes. Enjoy exploring these sections for other Novica treasures.
Preserving Traditions
Carving walnut wood is a passion for M. Ayub. He loves every aspect of this traditional art that was taught to him as a boy. A single piece can take many years for him to create; the wood must be gathered and carefully preserved before the carving can even begin. Once carved, it must be hand-rubbed with an agate stone to produce a beautiful refined finish. M. Ayub finds that many younger people do not have the patience for this craft and he fears that it is a dying art. He is dedicated to encouraging and motivating others to continue this magnificent Indian traditional craft and he stands ready to teach those willing to learn.
Enabling Education
M. Ayub proudly provides for the education of his son and daughter.
