Stacked agate chips and recycled glass beads in shades of red and orange capture the imagination in this handcrafted necklace by Ghana's Harriet Faako Adjei. It is entitled Faakonam in the West African Ewe language, which means "comfort" in English.

I ordered this necklace, originally, in January and when it arrived was disappointed that there were not more reds and oranges. So I sent it back, but still liked the necklace style. It was suggested that if I still liked it to reorder from another shipment. So I retuned the necklace and reordered it in another month. I just received it today and would like to personally thank the designer Harriet Faako Adjei for her lovely necklace. It is JUST PERFECT with 2 big red and orange round beads and polished agates. I am a jewelry designer in the U.S. and also make big statement pieces so I really appreciated Harriets design. It was going to be a gift, but i love this piece so much that I am going to keep it and include one of my designs as the gift for a friend. I will keep telling my friends about NOVICA site and encourage them to find unique art designs there. A big hug to you Harriet Faako Adjei as we are now sister artists and I send you love as I wear your necklace.

The beads are extremely large - I believe much wider than stated, There was no way for me to wear them due to heaviness, and not my taste, so I returned. The design would be spectacular if smaller. Return policy is easy and worry-free.
