This breathtaking catrina sculpture is the original creation of Luis Morales in Mexico. The origin of the catrina is in artist José Guadalupe Posada's satirical etchings of "La Calavera Catrina" in 1910, which mocked the pretensions and aspirations of Mexican high society. Crafted from ceramic, the skeletal figure is dressed to the nines, including a feathered Quetzalcóatl boa draped around her neck. Earrings and an elabourate picture hat complete her ensemble.

Inspired by the Day of the Dead celebration, Mexico's Miguel Zambrano brings us a lovely dog skeleton figurine made from papier mache. After crafting the figure, Miguel hand-paints traditional details on his work, achieving a decorative item full of culture and playfulness.
