Getting up to its usual playful antics, a monkey carries a tray on its back as it stands on all four. Jaifah Aksornsri carves the rain tree wood sculpture by hand in such a way that it can double as a decorative tray. He finishes the piece with painted details to create the illusion of an antique treasure.

Big, White & Beautiful”

I bought this for maple wood open shelves with light beige colored walls. It was too white so I placed it on different shelves with dark wood backing. It is very white. Also it is tall so check your measurements if you are going to place on a shelf. But most of all it is really unique and beautiful and I am so glad I purchased it.

Addition to my Collection”

When I saw this, I just had to purchase it to go along with my tea light holders and the large candle holder. I admire Jaifah Aksornsri artistic ability.

Empowering Women

The Women's Empowerment badge is awarded to female artisans or artisan groups that are led by women.

Preserving Traditions

Growing up, Jaifah was surrounded with Thai antiques and artisan designs that her parents collected and made. From her mother and other artisans, she learned the traditional techniques that she uses to produce the high-quality wood and metal designs her workshop is known for. She has taught these techniques to many of the artisans that work with her. She hopes that someday her children will want to continue this work but, so far, they have shown little interest in pursuing it.

Enabling Education

Jaifah and her husband are actively involved in their children's education. They encourage not only their studies but all of the extracurricular activities that interest them.

Caring for Children

Jaifah provides for her children the same sort of loving family environment that she grew up in.

Job Creator

Jaifah is able to provide jobs for other artisans in her workshop.
