This exquisite rayon batik robe by Desak Nyoman Parwati envelops the wearer in a languid Balinese danau ("lake") of swirling blue. As beautiful as it is comfortable, its flattering front-wrap style, wide sleeves and matching belt make this rayon robe a summer favorite.
This handpainted batik robe is a truly original work of art. Sunlight, water, dye and temperature all factor into the look of the finished robe. This should be considered a unique design made especially for you. Colors and pattern placement will vary.

Bought this robe for my mom for Mother s Day. Very beautiful. Color pop is much more subtle in real life, only downside.

This sarong in green batik rayon is a quick-to-put-on, well-crafted design for warm weather, and a nice change from wearing summer shorts.
You can find our women's batik robe 'Seaside Blue' (short) by Desak Nyoman Parwati in clothing categories such as Batik Robes and Rayon Robes. Enjoy exploring these sections for other Novica treasures.
Preserving Traditions
For eleven years Desak worked with a batik artisan learning all aspects of the process, from wax painting to dyeing. From her, she learned not only the art of batik and textile design but also how to care for her workers. In her workshop, Desak and the older artisans generously teach their art to the younger artisans, preserving for another generation this UNESCO cultural treasure.
Microcredit Financing
Desak Nyoman Parwati has received 3 microcredit loans with 0% interest from Kiva and Novica, the first for $2800 and the most recent for $4000. Proceeds were used to invest in the purchase of textiles and batik dyes to increase production in time for the holiday season.
Job Creator
Through perseverance, Desak has grown her workshop. She now employs members of her family and give jobs to other artisans in her community.
Empowering Women
The Women's Empowerment badge is awarded to female artisans or artisan groups that are led by women.
Caring for Children
Desak works hard to care for her three children and does all she can to give them a better life.
Moving On Up
This artist has dramatically improved their livelihood by working with NOVICA.
Enabling Education
Desak provides for the education of her three children.
